Probate Service

Probate gives you the legal authority to share out a person’s assets as detailed in their will. You may have to apply for probate if you’re the executor of someone’s will.

Taking care of an estate can sometimes feel like a huge responsibility. Milburns highly experienced probate solicitors can look after every detail for you. We administer estates as sensitively and efficiently as possible, including complex and high value estates.

If your loved one did not leave a will, we can help you understand how their estate will be divided.

Intestacy rules

If someone does not leave a will, this is known as ‘intestacy’. Under the rules of intestacy, close relatives will inherit a person’s estate. Milburns can help you to understand intestacy rules and how someone’s estate will be shared out if they didn’t have a will.

Trusts service

Milburns provides a bespoke trusts service to help you protect and manage your assets. Putting assets in a trust means they are controlled by appointed people called ‘trustees’ whose role is to manage the trust for the beneficiaries. Milburns can also assist with trust registration with HMRC.
